Imagine that you are floting along on the water. You pass a seabird family and it doesn't even notice you. The Söderhamn paddlers have produced a canoe guide and with the help of it we want to entice you and your friends to exciting excursions on fjords, in bays, on seas, on lakes, along rivers and streams. Alluring, yes! But we also want to give you relevant information about where you can start, where you can paddle, where you can camp and not least what you get the chance to experience when you paddle with us.

The tour suggestions try to show the character of each trip; what natural experiences you can expect, what historical and cultural sights you will encounter, even what myths and legends may exist along your tour. We have tried to create a canoe guide that can provide something for everyone; the beginner and the experienced paddler.

Allemansrätt och paddlingsvett

Tack vare allemansrätten kan alla röra sig fritt i den svenska naturen. Allemansrätten gäller både på land och på vatten. Du får bada vid stränder, paddla nästan överallt, kliva iland och övernatta något dygn i tält. Kraven på hänsyn mot naturen och omgivningen är desamma på vattnet som på land. Inte störa – inte förstöra! Som paddlare- tänk särskilt på:


• Var du parkerar bilen innan avfärd. Fråga gärna markägaren om lov om du blir borta några dagar.
• Eldning. Kolla upp att det inte råder eldningsförbud.
• Din lägerplats. Du får tälta eller på annat sätt övernatta i det fria något enstaka dygn på varje plats.
• Lämna inga sopor eller spår efter dina toalettbestyr.
• Fågelskydd. Under vissa tider på året är det förbjudet att beträda och paddla i fågelskyddsområden.
• I naturreservat gäller föreskrifter framför allemansrätten. Kolla upp om det till exempel är tillåtet att tälta eller elda i naturreservatet.
