The Pilgrims’ Trail

Follow in the footsteps of pilgrims through historic landscapes, churches and traditional mountain farmsteads. The Pilgrims’ Trail offers a unique blend of cultural heritage and natural beauty.

The Pilgrims’ Trail is part of a historic pilgrimage network stretching all the way from Uppsala to Trondheim – and onwards to mainland Europe for those who wish to continue. Three sections of the trail, stages 7, 8 and 9, pass through Söderhamn Municipality, from Småströmmarna to Knupbodarna. Along the way, the trail takes you past traditional mountain farmsteads, church ruins and historic cultural landscapes, all bearing traces of faith and tradition.
